Shi Jing’s paintings evolves from his concept of “contact by vision”. “Contact by vision” is to use one’s eyes to touch, physically. In fact, “contact by vision” is a simplification of the journey of the process by which “vision” becomes “perception”. This concept continues to evolve in Shi Jing’s works.
Without any conscious thought, there are many images kept unseen within us: an idol, a lover or things discarded, which comes back to us all the time; sometimes near, sometimes afar; in the dark or in broad daylight.
“Vision Demolished”, a solo exhibition is another validation of this concept.
